No coordinating four suppliers and no gaps in accountability when something goes wrong.
Second, our tooling model gives you Far East tool pricing with UK control. We've worked with the same trusted toolmaking partners for many years, and we drive the tool design, project management and quality specification ourselves. The tool is then shipped to Devon, where it stays — so you get the cost advantage of overseas toolmaking without the downsides of overseas production.

Plastic gets a bad press, but a well-designed moulded part that lasts twenty years is often the lower-carbon answer. Our approach has four strands.
Material choice. We actively offer recycled grades, biopolymers and plant-based plastics, and we'll help you evaluate whether they'll perform in your application before you commit. For customers with their own sustainability targets, this is usually the single biggest lever available.
Waste reduction. Sprues, runners and non-conforming parts can be granulated and reprocessed rather than sent to landfill.
Energy efficiency. We reinvest continually in newer plant equipment. Optimised tool design and cycle times reduce consumption further, and our in-house CMM and process controls keep scrap rates low; The least sustainable part is the one you have to make twice.
Freight. Polymer ships in bulk, densely and efficiently. Finished moulded parts are mostly air. Moving your moulding to the UK removes the freight leg that carries the volume, which for many customers is the largest single carbon reduction available to them.

Materials and production batches are traceable back to source, so if a question ever arises, we can tell you exactly which resin lot, which tool and which run a part came from. Non-conformances trigger a formal corrective action process rather than an informal fix. And the standard's emphasis on continual improvement obliges us to keep measuring and raising our own performance.

The offshore unit price used to be low enough to outweigh everything else. That gap has narrowed, and the hidden costs haven't. Therefore, there are many benefits to choosing a UK plastic injection moulder, including:
Lead time and responsiveness. Your tool sits on our shelf in Devon. If you need more product, we can have it in a machine quickly rather than waiting weeks or months for a container.

Scope and benchmark. Send us drawings, current volumes and annual usage. We'll quote against your true landed cost, unit price plus freight, duty, inspection, buffer stock and the cost of your team's time managing it, not just the ex-works figure.

Assess the existing tool. If you own a tool overseas, we'll review its drawings, condition and steel grade to judge whether it's worth transferring or whether a new tool pays for itself quickly.

Plan the transition. We build the timeline around your stock cover so there's no supply gap. Usually, you build a small buffer while the tool ships, and we run trials the moment it lands.

The commonest mistake is leaving it too late and reshoring in a panic after a supply failure. Planned properly, the changeover is undramatic.

Yes, we offer a full range of secondary operations: ultrasonic welding, heat staking, insert fitting, drilling, sub-assembly and full assembly, plus functional testing where required. We can also apply your own branding and labelling.
On packaging, we're flexible. Individually bagged items, single retail boxes, multipacks, cartons, or palletised and shrink-wrapped for distribution.
Yes. Our facility includes dedicated warehousing and stock holding is a standard part of our service rather than an afterthought. Included within reason as part of the overall package.
This works well for two reasons. It frees up expensive space in your own premises, and it lets us hold finished goods against your call-off schedule so we can react immediately to urgent orders. You get the responsiveness of local stock without carrying it yourself.
For unusually large volumes or long-term storage we'll have a straightforward conversation about it up front, but for the vast majority of customers it's simply part of how we work.
It depends on where you're starting from, so here's an honest breakdown:

Repeat production from a tool held here: Typically, 2–4 weeks. Because your tool is on our shelf in Devon, we can also be genuinely reactive. If you're in difficulty, tell us and we'll do what we can, including injection moulding and dispatching within days.

First production from a tool transferring in: 1–2 weeks from the tool arriving with us, allowing for inspection, trial and first-article approval.

New project from scratch: 8–10 weeks from receipt of order and deposit through to first samples, covering design, GA review, mould flow, tool manufacture and trial.

3D printed prototypes: 5 working days from a print-ready file.

We confirm a delivery date at order stage, and we'd rather give you a realistic date than an optimistic one. Our machines run 24/7, which gives us capacity to absorb surges and pull dates forward when it matters.

Quality is built in at the design stage, not inspected in at the end. Our process runs across the whole project:
Before production. Design for manufacture review, mould flow analysis, and a formal tool GA review where everything is scrutinized and agreed upon before any steel is cut.
At tool sign-off. Tool trials, sampled parts, and a full dimensional report.
In production. Documented process parameters for every tool, first-off and in-process inspection to a defined frequency, and material batch traceability from the resin certificate through to the despatch note.
Governing all of it. Our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, externally audited, with a formal non-conformance and corrective action procedure.
If you have specific requirements, PPAP submissions, capability studies, retained samples, particular inspection frequencies. Tell us at enquiry stage and we'll build them into the control plan.
We don't impose a blanket minimum. MOQs are agreed project by project, because the right minimum for a 3 gram clip and a 900 gram enclosure are not remotely the same number.
What actually determines it is unit cost. Machine setup time and material minimum purchase quantities are largely fixed regardless of run length, so on a low-value part those costs need spreading across more units to reach a sensible price. On a higher-value part, a much smaller run can stack up perfectly well.
The approach that works best for most of our customers is to agree an annual volume and schedule call-offs against it. You get volume pricing across the year, we get an efficient production plan.
